Introducing Katelyn!!

Well she is finally here! Katelyn Brooke Gunnell was born November 13th at 1:00 AM. She was 6 pounds and 15 1/2 oz and 20 inches long.
We went to the hospital to be induced around 12:45 am on November 12th. I got an epidural around 10 AM, but my contractions never normalized and it was slow going. I thought the baby would never get here. Finally, a full 24 hours after I got to the hospital, she made her appearance. I guess inducement doesnt always go so fast or smooth. She is my smallest baby, but my longest labor. But she is here! Whew. It feels so great to not be pregnant anymore!
So far she has been a pretty good baby. Its always a little rough in the beginning, but she is just so precious and cute. We are just loving her. Elizabeth just cant keep her hands off of her. Nathan will come about 10 inches away from here and blow her a kiss, but wont touch her or anything. He is still not sure about this baby girl. Tanner is just interested in everything she does and just watches her.
So here are some pics!

Long time no write.....

Well it has been a couple of months since I have written. Sorry about that. Things are going good! The kids love school. Tanner is doing well in his speech therapy and really likes his class. I just wish he could be a little more sure of himself and assertive. I know I know.... he's only 4. :)
Elizabeth loves her teacher, first grade was an adjustment. She kept saying they just work all day long. But I think she is finally into the swing of things.
Nathan is doing good and starting to be a real handful. He is tall enough now to climb onto kitchen chairs and then onto the kitchen table. He loves getting into the toilet and splashing as much as possible. Typical 18 month old I guess. He is still cute though. He just started nursery as well and I am so excited!!!
We have a new ward. Our wards split from 2 to 3! We are excited about it. Glen is still the Elders Quorum president and I was just called to be enrichment leader (although I wont be doing much for the rest of this year!!)
We are on countdown for #4. So hopefully in a few weeks I will have new pictures to post and more to write about!!
Till then!.............

AZ trip

Our next stop was Grandma and Grandpa Johnsons! They just got off their mission from Hawaii! My dad was serving as head maintenance for the Polynesian Cultural Center and my mom served at BYU-Hawaii. My mom came home on the 15th and my dad followed a week later. The kids had a blast!
There were slumber parties, hula dancing (with the clothes that grandma made!), learning how to play with poi poi balls, making a playhouse, swimming and gardening with grandpa. Tons of fun for everyone! We miss all of our family in AZ!

AZ trip 2

4th of July was a lot of fun with fireworks, homeade ice cream and fun games with granny! Granny made the pinata! The kids had a blast!

AZ trip -

Well we are back after a month in AZ! It was a lot of fun! Our first stop was the ranch in Pinedale. We spent almost 2 full weeks playing at the cabin, riding atv's, playing games and having fun. The kids especially loved playing with their cousins and loved exploring. There were days that Tanner and Elizabeth didnt come home for hours! Basically they showed up when they were hungry!:) They made forts and had tons of fun. We also went to the look-out tower, but it was closed. But we caught a lizard and horny toad! There was no shortage of catching those at the ranch!

Busy Week!

Well this is going to be a busy and exciting week!
Tuesday we are finding out what we are having so we are praying the baby will cooperate! Will it be a boy or girl???
Thursday I have a doctors appointment, packing, and having a girls nite out to say goodbye to one of my dearest friends Natalie Messick. I am so sad you are leaving but I know you will do great in Singapore!! Thank goodness for email and phones. I will miss you!
Friday we go to AZ!! The kids just cant talk about it enough. They are counting down the days. We are going to the ranch on Saturday for a week and a half. My parents get home from their mission from Hawaii July 15th, and we cant wait! So this will be an extended trip for me. Not for Glen. Somehow he timed it so he would be home just before he got to see the inlaws. Just kidding. He didnt really plan it to be that way, he just needs to save vacation time for when the baby comes!
Congrats to Shallan and Randy on their new addition to their family! She is so adorable! I am excited for you guys! You will have to let me know what its like to have 4 kids!! ;) Will I survive??
Anyway, thats it for now!! I will write on Tuesday and let you know which it will be!!

Countdown to AZ!

Well we are getting close to our AZ trip! The kids are very excited to see their cousins and grandparents again. Especially Grandma and Grandpa Johnson who have served 3 missions and are finally coming home for an extended period of time.... we hope. :) We are excited to play at the ranch and eat Mattas and see all of our family and friends! We have a lot of catching up to do!

The fireflies are starting to come out! Elizabeth is so excited. She wants us to wake her up to see them. They come out around 9 or 9:30 and the kiddos are in bed by 8. :) Today we had a mommy and daughter date. We went to lunch and got our hair done. Elizabeth was so excited. She got her hair washed and loved that. She picked out what picture she wanted to look like and told the hairdresser what to do. Since I am cheap, I didnt want them to blow dry, so it was wet. She looked at herself in the mirror and said, you didnt do it like the picture! So tomorrow we will see how she likes her new haircut when we do it for church.

Two of my friends here had babies in the past couple of weeks! I am so excited for them. Now they are almost caught up to us!! :) My other good friend had her baby in AZ. We are catching up to them... :)

My dad had his birthday too! He is 71!!! Happy Birthday dad!

Elizabeth has been such a great big help these past couple of weeks. She cleans her room, makes her bed and Tanners bed, makes MY bed and straitens up the bathroom. All without me asking. She "surprises" me everyday. Hope it continues when she is a teenager!!

We are thinking of putting Tanner and Elizabeth in Vacation Bible school. Does anyone have any experience with this? Just wondered what other people experienced.

Anyway, thats it for now.

Cruise!!!!!!!

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary we went on a carnival carribean cruise for 7 days! It was great!
What an awesome cruise!! We loved it! Our first surprise was our room. We had paid for an interior room with no windows, but when we got there, we were put on the 11th deck with a wall that was all window! It was great!
The ship was HUGE! Lots of great food and fun. We enjoyed bingo, shows, yummy food all day long, and the excursions.

Our first stop was Jamaica. We went directly to Doctors Cave Beach. We went parasailing. It was great! Not scary at all, there were no butterflies in the stomach coming down or anything. It was rather peaceful and fun. Then we played around on the beach after that.

Next stop, our favorite was Grand Cayman and swimming and snorkling with sting rays!!

Finally our last stop was Cozumel. A very commercial mexico! No haggling here. They wouldnt take more than a dollar off their products. We went horseback riding. It was very hot and I was a little concerned about the cattle and horses. There were ribs showing through a lot of them. But we still had fun, though I think next time we will stick with the snorkling and water fun. The horseback riding was taking us through the mayan jungle which was more like Arizona desert brush to look at ruins (which were replicas). The interesting thing there was a lot of underground caves. That would have been fun to explore.
It was a great trip. But we will probably go again in 5 or 10 years to celebrate our 15 or 20 year anniversary..... anyone want to come with us? It was great to come home to our kiddos. Who wouldnt want to hurry home to these cute kids???? :)

Countdown!

Well we are on a countdown!
Tuesday: Last day of work! Hooray!
Thursday: Mom and Dad Gunnell come to watch the kiddos! Hooray!
Saturday: Leave for the CRUISE!! HOORAY!!!
We are so excited.
Well not much going on this week. Elizabeth is doing T-ball when its not raining, they have had 3 practices cancelled due to weather. Now they are playing games. Oh well. I guess eventually they may figure it out.
Tanner is our little singer. He just sings all the time. he is also a good big brother to Nathan and plays with him. He has his Parent teacher conference coming up as well.
Nathan turned 1!! He is having his personality come through loud and strong too. He seems to want to be more independant everyday and is frustrated that he cant be quite yet. I think learning to walk will help his frustration a little bit. He will stand, but not walk. Hopefully that will come soon.
Thats all for now! Will probably not post until after the cruise!

We are healthy!

Knock on wood, we are all healthy! Finally, the first time since November, no one is running a fever, coughing, or having any problems. :)
I am counting down... 2 weeks until tax season is over.... 14 days!
Also counting down to the cruise! Cant wait! Although I am really nervous about leaving Nathan. He will be just barely 1! I hope that he is good for Granny. :)
Elizabeth starts T-Ball this week. She is very excited. Her first practise got rained out, so she is hoping it doesnt rain tomorrow for her next practise.
Tanner was being so funny this morning. He was watching cartoons and a commercial came on for a cash service to get your settlement to you. Their phrase is " Its your money, get it now! Tanner started saying really loud, ITS MY MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW! It was funny to hear him.
Nathan is starting to get a little more sure on his feet, although he wont stand very much, he will stand for a few seconds and smiles.
I am a great aunt again! (not that there was ever any doubt about that!) My nephew Jeremy and his wife Tif just had their 2nd baby boy. That means I am a great aunt to 5! Congrats guys!
Thats all for now!

2nd blog post

Ok, so I havent posted once a week like I planned. My first post was in October, and it is now almost march! :) Well heres the latest. Our family has been sick pretty much since November. Nathan was on antibiotics pretty much all of November and December and finally got tubes in January. Two days later he had pneumonia. Antibiotics again. Now its a cold. Elizabeth had asthmatic problems, they thought maybe she had asthma, but it turned out to be maybe a seasonal asthma. They are not totally sure. She had to be on breathing treatments for a few weeks. Then she got the flu bug. Then two days later Glen got it, two days later Tanner got it. So the whole family except for Nathan and I were throwing up. Then I got sick and achy and bronchitis, and now its a glorified cold I think. Anyways, I hope we are on the upswing and mending. Glen is still the Elders Quorum president and is doing great there. Its a lot of work and effort, but he does wonderful with the people in our ward that are not that active. He is also getting recognized at conocophillips for his hard work there. His supervisors love him and he is a great and hard worker. I am doing tax season here at JH. Cant believe we are almost down to one month left. It goes really fast. Elizabeth loves school, Tanner loves preschool and nathan loves baby einsteins! :) Anyway, I will try to post some pics soon and hopefully keep up with the blog!
